Dynamic DNS
Abbreviated DDNS. In Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, a mechanism that allows Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Windows 2000 clients to update Domain Name Service (DNS) records dynamically, rather than by the traditional method of manually adding the new records to static DNS zone files.
